Course Agenda

Course Agenda for the Pre-Plone-Conference Plone training on skinning.

This course will cover:

  • fast, quick appearance changes for Plone sites (changing logos, colors, etc.)
  • an introduction to CSS (cascading style sheets, the technology used to stylize a Plone site)
  • use of the Web Developer Extensions, a browser add-on that makes understanding and testing CSS a snap
  • the techniques used to stylize a Plone site, giving you complete control while providing easy upgrades between versions
  • demonstrations of existing Plone sites, and how they were skinned
  • useful built-in CSS styles in Plone that you can (& should!) re-use in your sites
  • helping your content managers create content that "looks like" your site
  • hands-on work to complete a Plone skin during class

No CSS experience is required; however, reading a quick online guide to CSS will probably benefit most students. Basic understanding of web design and HTML is required.
